Experiential Learning Grant: Proposals will be reviewed: October 17, 2008 for Fall or Fall/Spring projects The College of Arts & Sciences' Center for Experiential Education and Academic Advising (CEA) has established a scholarship program to encourage undergraduates to pursue experiential education opportunities. The Experiential Learning Grant will make a limited number of awards available to Arts and Sciences undergraduates to support a range of activities, including co-op, community service, internships, field work, artistic performance, research collaborations with faculty, and others that extend and enhance traditional classroom instruction. Individual projects by undergraduates may be done during a regular term or on co-op. Projects involving groups of undergraduates may also be submitted. The award is intended to recognize undergraduates who are participating in an experiential learning project and to defray costs such as materials, travel, equipment, and so on. It cannot be used as a stipend. Proposals should be developed by the undergraduates with advice from faculty, and must be co-signed by the sponsoring faculty mentor. Undergraduates who receive awards are required to write a short summary of their project that must be signed by the faculty mentor. Undergraduates may be asked to make a brief presentation at a CEA event. Awards
