Original Concept
Hopeful Monster is a multi-user, simulation-based game designed for a general audience that includes both casual and more dedicated game players. The rules and interface are simple enough to appeal to casual gamers, while the gameplay mechanics are sufficiently complicated to challenge more "serious" real-time-strategy gamers.
There are three modes of play:
- Single-Player
- Multiplayer Competitive
- Open Simulation
The game takes place on an island, Pondera, with various terrains, which, while Earth-like, is not on Earth. Before the game begins, each player assembles various body parts to create a creature of their liking. This creature is placed into the gameworld and multiplied to form a species. The player selects a gameworld from a list of servers with varying modes of play and goals. The player must help its creature achieve the goal for the current game scenario.
Three Different Modes of Playing the Game
