Species Development - Preliminary Sketches

The students of the Multimedia Studies Capstone class were all given the task to create sketches of several species of specific biomes. We all brought our sketches and ideas together at our weekly meeting and discussed elements that were common among the proposed creatures and we brainstormed ways to merge the ideas into nine distinct creatures, maintaining a commonality across taxonomic class as well as species.

Influenced by reptiles, this sketch was transformed into the model of Sanchez.
The strength and force this creature has influenced the forest biome model.
The predator and carnivore in the desert environment was largely modeled after this.

The lure feature of this early sketch became the special feature of the desert omnivore.
This bear-like creature can be seen in the model of the final forest carnivore.
The bird-like features show this sketch's influence on the final swamp bird model.
