Swamp Biome

Petunia, carnivore

The top level predator and carnivore in the desert is the reptile Petunia. She is a large hulking reptile, reminiscent of dinosaurs. She attacks much like a crocodile, trying to ambush it's prey using the murky water to conceal it's massive form. Petunia borrows heavily from the crocodile and also pays tribute to the jesus lizard by sporting a nifty retractable flap of scales around its neck. Like other reptiles in the world, Petunia features protective armor attribute.

Clarence, omnivore

The mid-level omnivore, which the player controls is the species named Clarence. The ability of flying was discussed, but it was decided that Clarence would only be able to perform a hover attack where he would be able to snag Filbert, the herbivore, from the water's surface. The slight height advantage, through hovering, allows Clarence to better see his prey. The swamp omnivores special ability is mimicking the herbivore's call, in order to lure in it's prey. . The omnivore is brightly colored and is a mixture of a crane, a heron, and an owl.

Filbert, herbivore

The low-level herbivore is a swimming creature, named Filbert. The mammal in this biome once again borrows rodent-type features as well as otter-like swimming ability. It has a tuft of brightly colored green hair on it's head and on the tip of it's tail, a tactic employed to confuse predators about which way it is facing when submerged in the water. The tufts of hair appear similar to the plant that is poisonous to the omnivore, which provides some protection to Filbert.

Plants from left to right: Sumix, Deyja, and Tamus

The plants in the swamp are based on similar water based plants that float on the water's surface. There are also few trees in the biome, and overall there is more plant life in the Swamp than in the Desert, due to the abundance of water. The root systems for the trees are steadfast and sturdy to support the upper weight of the tree in the muddy terrain. As in the other biomes, there are three types of plants: delicious (Deyja), non-nutritious (Tamus), and poisonous (Sumix).
